Welcome to the Realbuzz home
of UK charity running for the 41st BMW Berlin Marathon. . .
Want to get involved with the marathon experience of a lifetime?
Then the Berlin Marathon is just what you’ve been looking for. Online registration for the 41st BMW Berlin Marathon will be open Septemer 30th 2013 at 12pm for pre-registration. The pre-registration will be open for 14 days, after which the system will close. On October 30th, participants who entered will be chosen at random and be given an entry for the 41st Berlin Marathon, which will be held on 28th September 2014. You can find out more by visiting the official BMW Berlin Marathon website.
Those who have not been chosen will be able to apply for a charity place. There are plenty of places available through charity packages, which will allow you to run the race on behalf of the charity of your choice. Even if you have got your own place you can still fundraise for charity, and there are thousands of worthy causes out there who would love to have you on board to raise much needed funds for them.
Whether you’re a seasoned marathon runner looking for a personal best, or an excited beginner approaching your first marathon, Berlin is exactly what you’ve been looking for. Nine world records have been set along the BMW Berlin Marathon’s notoriously flat route, and the world’s most elite athletes come back time and time again to run the course - as we saw this year where Wilson Kipsang broke the world record again with a time of 2.03.23.
The race starts and finishes at the iconic Brandenburg Gate, before passing a whole host of fascinating landmarks along the way, including the Reichstag, Potsdamer Platz, and Berlin Cathedral. Berlin truly is one of Europe’s must visit capitals, and with so much to see and do you might want to consider spending a few days there to experience all that the city has to offer.
You’ll be sharing the course with 40,000 runners, as well as over a million spectators who will be cheering you on every step of the way. There’s nothing quite like the camaraderie and togetherness of running a marathon, and you’ll have the chance to speak to your fellow runners before and after the race in the Realbuzz marathon community. Here you’ll be able to seek advice from experienced runners, record your own marathon training blog, and learn everything you need to know about the race.
